Do you like variety in your day, or do you group similar tasks together? Generally speaking, grouping is more time efficient. I like to arrange meetings for the same day, because I can never concentrate on other tasks properly if I know I have to go out later.
Grouping together client work, marketing and even your admin, means you can get ‘in the flow’ and avoid breaking your concentration!

You make some good points Alan, I particularly like the idea of having some fill in jobs to get me away from the screen - where I often spend far too long before taking a break!
Thanks for your contribution.

I find that a combination of grouping and mixing tasks is good. Grouping can be time efficient but mixing allows flexibility. In particular I find it good to select tasks that suit my mood or energy level. Also ones that fit into an available time slot. I always have a few fill in jobs that get me away from my screen for a few minutes and give me a break.
