Case Study # 1 - an established Consultancy

Problem

The company was having difficulty generating new business and the directors were becoming increasingly frustrated at their lack of progress.  Concerns were rising at the reduced level of future project bookings.

Solution

We started by looking at the goals of the company and those of its directors, bringing them up to date.  Then the marketing and business development strategies were reviewed and refined.  We also looked at possible personal obstacles to achievement.

Results

The development and implementation of a clearly defined strategy led to an increase in invitations to tender for projects.  Improved focus on business development activities has resulted in new business.  A greater understanding of personal motivators and performance influencing factors has resulted in restored self-confidence.

Case Study #2 - an Entrepreneur

Problem

This client was trying to pursue too many business opportunities to make much progress in any of them and was exhausted by the number of hours he was working.

Solution

During our work together, we looked at what was driving him so hard.  It emerged that the main motivation was to provide a good life for his family, yet his excessive hours resulted in him spending very little time with them!  The serious issue of stress was also addressed.

Results

This client was able to reduce the number of commitments to only those which met his goals and as a result, he was able to increase the amount of time spent with his family.  Working with a simplified business model has provided focus and clarity – and reduced stress.

Case Study #3 - an Independent Financial Adviser

Problem

This client had no problem attracting new business.  On the contrary she was having trouble keeping up with all the associated paperwork, which she didn’t really enjoy and which was gradually taking over her living room.  She also had plans to move into a new office but couldn’t see how she was going to cope with the disruption.  Added to this, she wanted to have quality time with her young family.

Solution

There were many facets to this client’s requirements, and some tight deadlines to meet.  It was therefore essential to plan each element very carefully.  Regular coaching calls (and the exchange of frequent emails) took place over a period of a few months and these enabled her to keep on track with the numerous actions she had to take in order to stay on target.

Results

By following the programme we set out, this client was able to meet all her deadlines.  The office move went without a hitch and client documents were quickly organised into their new home (and her living room reclaimed).  A compliance visit (to check all necessary forms were in order – a regulatory requirement to keep trading!) was successfully completed.  My client was also able to take a long awaited holiday with her children – without worrying about business, because everything was taken care of.
